lost type co-op

, Wednesday, June 1

"The Lost Type Co-Op is a Pay-What-You-Want Type foundry, the first of it's kind. Founded by Riley Cran and Tyler Galpin, originally in a whirlwind 24 hour adventure to distribute a single typeface, Lost Type has blossomed into a full fledged foundry, distributing fonts from designers all over the world, with its unique model.

Users have the opportunity to pay whatever they like for a font, you can even type in '$0' for a free download. 100% of funds from these sales go directly to the designers of the fonts, respectively. Lost Type takes no cut of sales, and holds no funds." Awesome!

when art meets mirror

, Thursday, May 19

Mizukagami's water-like mirrors are strangely stunning. Here are some beautiful images of them installed in a gallery space. I would be interested to also see them in home environment where they fit in and look great.

google is watching

, Tuesday, May 17

"Two years ago, Google sent out an army of hybrid electric automobiles, each one bearing nine cameras on a single pole. Armed with a GPS and three laser range scanners, this fleet of cars began an endless quest to photograph every highway and byway in the free world."

Artist Jon Rafman has scoured google street views in search of incredible moments caught with these cameras. What he found is astonishing. He has collected a series of images that would easily slip into the files of the best street photographers out there. Great compositions and incredible moments have been captured spontaneously through technology. This makes me question the luck and timing of street photography. It also begs to question, "was I caught on street views doing something inappropriate?". I guess someone IS always watching, I knew it!

sneaky ceiling fan

, Monday, May 16

The Mistral Ceiling Fan by Moooi looks like a pendant lamp but performs like a fan. How fabulous is that? It's slick, sexy and sneaky; not like most bulky, ugo ceiling fans you find out there. But with beauty comes a lofty price of $964.00, ak-hem.

So this week was my first official week as a contributor to Apartment Therapy. It's been fun, exciting and challenging.

I will do a weekly round-up of my posts on Fridays, but you can find all of my posts here. This weeks posts were a Retrofit Home: shop profile about a great decor store in Seattle, Pillow Talk: Messages on Pillows and 10 Design Books To Keep You Inspired.

another hiatus?

, Thursday, May 12

You may have noticed that I have not been posting for the past month and a half. On March 26 I wrote that I would be gone for a bit because of a family emergency. Well, my mom passed away the next day. Needless to say I haven't really felt up to blogging since. But, now I am back again. I hope to continue to blog daily. Please understand if I get a little slackey. However, I think I'm ready to get into distractions. Thanx for understanding, now let's get inspired and look at cool stuff :)
