The Sunday Greenies

Dispose of smoke detectors safely. Most detectors have a small amount of radioactive material in them. They are safe unless the radioactive chamber is broken. This means that ionization smoke detectors should be disposed of very carefully by taking it to your local waste recycling center. Alternatively, you can instal a photoelectric smoke detector (856), which doesn't contain any radioactive material.
